Hopefully you get this motor situation all settled soon so you can enjoy more track days!

Can you guys please please plan on coming to NJMP one weekend to track!

Ya, I am planning on having the new motor and trans done by the end of February so it will be ready and tested before the start of next season. Honestly, after the motor build and engine bay I did last winter my plans for this winter seem pretty mild haha. NJMP and Pocono are a definite this year. I am definitely focused on getting more track time, that's why the B16 is just going to be a simple reliable build.

Although the motor issues have been somewhat of a setback, I am hoping that what came in today is a sign of good things to come for this build in the near future. I have basically waited all year for these to come in so I was pretty excited when I saw the UPS guy at my work today.

The wheels I ended up getting are Championship White 15x8 TE37's. After getting them home last night I couldn't help but throw them on to get an idea of how it was going to look.

I can't wait to see it with tires and sitting on the ground.

My plan is to put the 2 NT01's that are on my Regamaster's on 2 of the TE's so I can see how it fits with the 205's. I am hoping that it doesn't take too much to clear in the rear. If I still have a decent amount of room up front I may order 225's for fronts. I should be mounting the 205's next week so I will know then.

I've never been a fan of Milano red cars with white wheels. 😉

Later in the year once i determine what events ill be attending i will give you guys a list! Nice to have more friends at the track and especially well build hondas too

Jealous of those te37 for sure! I can come to buying volks for the track i know they are going to get trashed.

Can't wait to see what this build is. Is it a secret? And yes a list would be perfect! Besides Englishtown we aren't really sure which are the good events to attend so any help would be appreciated. I have already accepted the fact that the TE's are going to get abused but that is what they were made for right? I try to not let the fact that the car is going to get tracked keep me from buying the parts I want to put on the car.

Slight secret but not really I just dont wanna post stuff on ig or fb about it so some people can just mind there own business thats all but you will see it in due time!

There are plenty of good events to attend just depends on your schedule. NASA, Hooked on driving, Chin motorsport, Scca Track nights and a few other porshe clubs and stuff are great places to run with get you guys some exposure to better and different tracks!

I ended up finding a B16 block relatively easy. Once I got it home I threw it on the engine stand and started tearing it apart.

Apparently the motor had been sitting on an engine stand for 2 years so even though there weren't any scratches on the cylinder walls there were marks where the rings just sat in one position for so long. The crank and bearings looked great though. The block is at the machine shop now. I am just getting it honed and decking the surface to clean it up. I will be using the stock pistons and rods that were in the motor already.

Another thing I picked up was a Gen1 Skunk2 intake manifold for the GSR head. I hate the new versions with the plates and badges built into them. I want it to look just like a Type R intake manifold.

Here it is next to my Type R. Skunk2 is on the left.

Yo! What's up Mike!

I started taking apart the head so I could get the Manley springs, retainers, and valves, to put in the GSR head. While taking out the valves I noticed that one didn't look right. Turns out there were a couple of bent valves.

What is crazy is that this must have happened when the timing belt broke even though the motor ran fine and had a good compression test. I ran with the bent valves for 2 track days without any issues.
