1997 JDM DC2 rebuild

We have a running car! After the wiring issue, turns out cylinder 4 had a misfire. Everything was leading back to ignition.

I figured it would be good to siphon all the old gas out, tossed some fresh 93 in there and swap the spark plugs. My god, the old plugs were rough looking. However, new fuel, spark plugs and a quick turn of the key had it back to perfect idle. I’ve bled the coolant system and the heater works. Waiting on 2 brake lines to come in, then the car should be ready to drive.

It moves!!! However, I have a slight grinding noise in the back. Turns out, the RTA/UCA are rubbing the inside of my wheel on driver rear. I swapped to adjustable UCA, didn’t fix the issue. Wheel bearings and struts are good, LCA are good. Looks like I get to rebuild the rear arms or somethings bent. Either way, they are coming off.

It runs, drives, stops, then sits on Jack stands:joy::joy:

Well, I found out what the grinding noise was. Looks like an RTA is slightly bent. I pulled the RTA off and saw quite a bit of surface rust accumulated on the back end.

Well, we can’t have that!

So, I bought a set of decent RTA off a buddy, swapped out the Bushings, Control Arms and hubs/spindles. These will look MUCH better under the car. I’m getting close to finishing, just a few odd bits left.
