Tires mounted!
More Works arrived today for my personal collection.
15 inch Work Euro Position, just need to find/replicate the centers
Was looking on Yahoo auctions yesterday and something interesting came past. Set of 15 inch Weds TC05’s, with a few minutes left in the auction placed a bid, never expecting to win, and to my surprise nobody went over my bid. So now I can add TC05’s to my collection
How’s shipping on those? I cruise the auctions too. Just curious
That’s a good question, I always buy my wheels tru Buyee but they just changed their shipping methods.
In the past I had them shipped by sea because that was the cheapest way and I didn’t need them in a hurry anyway but that also ment that they would be handled here by our local post office and that was always a pain. Shipping took maybe 2 to 3 months but the importing took almost a month on it’s own. And the boxes always arrived beat up.
Then Buyee added a Fedex option to the shipping and I started useing that. It was just a bit over the price of shipping by sea but I always had my boxes within a week and never had any beat up boxes, didn’t even need to add protective packaging anymore.
Now they combined DHL (very expensive option) and Fedex in a ‘air delivery’ option and they will choose the company by shortest time depending on each carrier shipping queue for you. So now I don’t know what company will be delivering my boxes untill I had them shipped. Then Buyee will send me an email with all the details.
I can’t tell you how much shipping will be for the TC05’s yet, they still have to arrive in the warehouse in Japan. I really hope shipping prices didn’t double because then it will be the very last thing I buy tru Buyee.
Shipping is calculated by weight so that has a big impact too on price. My Lowenharts for the Sportcross where very expensive to ship but one wheel was about 16 kilograms on it’s own.
Would be interested on an update regarding this.
Just checked, it’s still a bit more then shipping by sea but only for pairs or full sets. I have a single wheel for a friend of mine and in that case they used the volumetric weight of the box because that is higher then the weight of the product. Making it twice as expensive to ship just one wheel. So from now on I’ll be looking for pairs or 2 singles to combine shipping. But small parts that don’t really weigh much will be a thing of the past, not looking to pay 4 times more shipping costs then the product price.
To give you guys an idea on shipping the TC05’s to me in Belgium is about 240 euro’s, that roughly 270 USD. 2 boxes that are just over 12 kilograms each. Shipping by air and delivery is most of the time within the same week if I ship the boxes out on monday.
Keep in mind that I will need to pay import taxes too on wheels and shipping. Stupid laws here that make us pay taxes on the shipping, because “it adds value to the products” …
